Mother takes child for Dolphin Human Therapy in Grand Cayman

Her daughter Rebecca had effectively been written off by the medical experts. She was given a life sentence, one of silence, in a wheelchair and reliant on equipment or people to take care of her every need.

Rebecca’s mum, however, never gave up hope and when she read about therapy where humans interacted with Dolphins  http://www.dhtgc.com/ she embarked on a mission that lasted 12 years.

Rebecca is no longer that child in the wheelchair, locked in a silent world. She’s now 15 and attending full time school. She talks and communicated well and walks with the aid of a frame. The experts gave up on her, her mum didn’t, and she now lives the life she deserves.

But the story doesn’t end there.

Mum Catherine – as a result of the inspiration and confidence she gained from the positive effect DHT had on Rebecca and the progress she made – decided to give something back.

So Catherine trained to be a Special Needs Teacher!

Catherine qualified as Special Needs Teacher in 2008 and has just been assessed by Ofsted as an Outstanding Teacher!

Twin celebrations indeed!
